Magical Night! Oresteia at the Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus

A few days ago, I had one of my most unforgettable nights…! I went to the Ancient Theater of Epidaurus, an enchanting place like no other, that beams with energy and thousands of years of history. I was lucky enough to sit right in the first row (huge gasp!), so close to the stage and watch the best theater play I have seen so far!

#Oresteia is a trilogy of Greek tragedies, written by Aeschylus, concerning the end of the curse on the House of Atreus. The name derives from the leading character Orestes (starring my beloved, amazing actor and friend Konstantinos Markoulakis!), who sets out to avenge his father’s murder. I really and honestly hadn’t expected to see something so magical and mesmerising! A cast of the most brilliant greek actors, like Karyofyllia Karabeti, Konstantinos Markoulakis, Stefania Goulioti, Nikos Psarras, Nikos Kouris and more,  gave an astonishing performance! Geniously directed by Yannis Houvardas, this particular play is a modern version of Oresteia and a “marriage” of the Ancient Tragedy and aesthetics of the 40’s!

#Oresteia will be on a theatre tour all over Greece untill the 7th of August and is definitely NOT to be missed!

Special Thanks to Konstantinos Markoulakis, who hooked me up with the best seats in  the house!
